History

Established in 2002 as the UIC Management Club, the Management Leadership Association serves the UIC community as the university's only student organization dedicated to providing students with resources to develop leadership skills and managerial competencies. The MLA is proud to be a club that accepts students from all majors and career paths, as we provide experiences benefiting everyone on campus.

Michael T. Miller

Founder & Alumni Advisor

Michael Miller is the founder of the Management Leadership Association, and he served as the club's faculty advisor from 2002 until his retirement in 2025. Teaching concurrently as a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Managerial Studies, Miller was able to establish the club alongside students who shared a deep appreciation for leadership. He'll remain onboard as our Alumni Advisor for the following year.
